Duties listed below are the minimum requirements, other tasks may be asked of you.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Ensure ingredients are properly kept at appropriate temperature. 
  • Always ensure availability and quality of ingredients. 
  • Clean work equipment, dishes, utensils, and work areas.
  • Prepare food according to instructions supervisor order. 
  • Manage dry storage and put away food orders that comes in.
  • Package prepared foods. 
  • Prepare for cooking process by cutting, washing, peeling, and cutting required foods
  • Report damaged equipment and low supplies to supervisors.
  • Monitor with care the temperature of the cooking equipment and cooling rooms.
  • Ensure kitchen is clean and tidy.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and follow instructions from higher cooks. 

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE JOB: 

  • Minimum 1-2 years of kitchen experience. 
  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Culinary education would be considered an asset 
  • Previous experience processing and putting away food orders. 
  • High level of stamina; ability to work long hours on the feet. 
  • General knowledge of how the kitchen operates, equipment, tools, and utensils.
  • Advanced mental coordination to prevent accidents in the kitchen.
  • Effective communication skills, team player attitude, and positive personality.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and ability to exceed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to self-motivate, maintain sense of urgency, and keep momentum.

  • Display excellent customer service, ensuring all customers have the best possible experience with Lake of the Woods Brewing Co. 
  • Provide detailed information of menu items and daily features 
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of the brewery and our beer 
  • Deliver food items to tables in a professional and timely manner, while ensuring the food quality and presentation is up to the mark. 
  • Provide general tourist information to guests. 
  • Open to working during special taproom events, which can include after hours. 
  • Work in a team environment and be open to performing other duties as assigned 
  • Handling cash and processing payments through the point-of-sale system 
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the taproom and workstations
  • Perform daily opening and/or closing duties

  • Must be Smart Serve Certified (ON) or willing to complete certification.

WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS:

  • Greet and assist customers with enthusiasm and friendliness
  • Prepare and assemble gourmet hot dogs, deli-style sandwiches, ice cream cones, cups and sundaes with attention to presentation.
  • Restock deli meats, hot dogs, buns, loaves of bread, condiments, ice cream, cones, toppings and supplies throughout shift
  • Maintain a clean and organized prep area and service counter
  • Create a welcoming, fun atmosphere for guests at the Brewers Village
  • Offer suggestions and menu guidance to customers
  • Operate POS system accurately; process payments via cash, credit, or debit
  • Resolve customer concerns with professionalism and good judgment
  • Communicate clearly and positively with teammates and guests
  • Execute daily opening and closing duties, including opening/closing the Sea Can when needed
  • Contribute to the overall team effort by completing tasks as assigned

The primary focus of this position is managing the day-to-day operations of the brewery taproom and providing support to the retail store. This position is fast-paced, extremely engaging, and very social in nature. The successful candidate should be outgoing, have strong leadership and organizational skills to efficiently lead a growing team.

WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS:

  • Must love craft beer! With the knowledge and passion to discuss our beers with guests.
  • Act as a brand ambassador and build relationships with customers and corporate clients.
  • Weekly scheduling of staff; creating and managing weekly task(s) list for employees.
  • Interfacing with logistics for ordering store supplies.
  • Responsible body on-site, flexibility of work hours.
  • Bi-weekly meetings with staff.
  • Supervise the daily operations of Taproom and provide support to the retail store.
  • Staff education exercises (beer tasting, brewery visit, programming).
  • Daily Cash Out reports – provided to Finance Controller.
  • Execute staff training procedures, assist in hiring for location, and incentivize staff for a fun, dynamic work environment.
  • Site cleanliness and enforcement of health and safety.
  • Inventory Management and reconciliation – daily reports.
  • Assist the Marketing department with social media.
  • Assist Event and Community Development manager with events and initiatives.
  • Assist Food and Beverage Manager with food special.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE JOB:

  • Minimum of 2 years Managerial and/or supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years restaurant serving or bartending experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a retail environment would be considered an asset.
  • Passion for all things craft beer – previous industry experience would be considered an asset (ie. Beer Advocate/Liquor Rep).
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software quickly (GiveX, Quickbooks, Ekos)
  • High energy individual with exceptional multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Smart Serve Certified.
  • Ability to work alone independently and in a team environment.
