One of the newer community initiatives we kicked off in Spring 2023 is all about bringing our staff and community together to keep Kenora lookin’ its best. Each year around Earth Day, we host a community-wide cleanup, inviting folks to roll up their sleeves and pitch in. Gear is provided by Tourism Kenora, and Northern Waste & Hauling helps us handle the haul with a dumpster for all the collected trash. Participants can choose their own route, whether it’s a neighbourhood, street, or local trail, and as a thank you, volunteers are treated to a couple of well-earned brews. We’re so grateful for the support and turnout each year, and are proud to keep this as an annual tradition! 

Lake of the Woods Brewing Company is proud to support the 2SLGBTQ+ community. We believe in equality, compassion and understanding for all people, and by creating the Pride Pack, hope to raise awareness and support for the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

Launching every Pride Month, $1 dollar from every Sultana Gold Pride Pack goes to Kenora Pride. Thank you to all those who helped us with this project.

We care about the environment, as good stewards we are constantly striving for a healthier, greener planet Earth. To help offset carbon emissions, we are committed to planting trees in our region. Starting in 2018, staff, owners & community volunteers have headed outdoors to set down new roots and have planted over 60,000 seedlings since. And, we still continue to plant seedlings, each and every spring. Trees are cool.

We use four ingredients to make our beer; malt, hops, water and yeast. After all that malted grain has been used to create our beer, the leftover rich, fibery, grain husk byproduct makes its way to Farmer Paul and his cows (and Taproom kitchen to use in our pizza dough).
