EARTH DAY CLEANUP

Starting in 2023, we gave folks in our community a chance to get out there, soak up that fresh spring air, and lend a hand in tidying up the city of Kenora.

The event, which takes place on Earth Day, involves picking up trash to help beautify our surroundings. Participants were given the freedom to choose any location they preferred, whether it was a street, a neighbourhood, or one of the many nature trails scattered throughout the city. To facilitate the cleanup process, garbage pickers were generously provided by Tourism Kenora. We were thrilled to see such an incredible turnout!

ONE BEER, ONE TREE

15,000 Trees Planted & Counting...

We care about the environment, as good stewards we are constantly striving for a healthier, greener planet Earth. To help offset carbon emissions, we are committed to planting trees in our region. In 2018 through 2023, staff and owners have headed outdoors to set down new roots and have planted over 30,000 saplings since. And, we are going to plant saplings, each and every spring. Trees are cool.

OUR SPENT GRAIN GOES TO LOCAL FARMS

Even cows like our beer...

We use four ingredients to make our beer; malt, hops, water and yeast. After all that malted grain has been used to create our beer, the leftover rich, fibery, grain husk byproduct makes its way to Farmer Paul and his cows (and Taproom kitchen to use in our pizza dough). CARING FOR OUR COMMUNITIES

We are proud to support community events, the arts and charitable organizations in the places that we do business.
Whether you're a school, sports team, corporation or community group, fundraising can help you raise funds for anything and everything! Need a new playground at your school? What about a cross border field trip? Is your team's facility rental just too expensive? Lake of the Woods Brewing Company is here to help! With your order, 10% of all sales support TRIPLE P.L.A.Y.
We believe in giving back to our community & region and the Charity Pints Program was designed to make a difference in the communities of Kenora, Lake of the Woods region, Thunder Bay and Manitoba. Every month we pick a craft beer. We then donate $0.25 of every featured pint sold in the Taproom over the course of the month. By choosing the Charity Pint, you are supporting our social impact investments. There’s never been a better reason to join us for a pint or to take-away some beer to share with family and friends.
The Kenora Chapter of Barley's Angels spreads the appreciation and understanding of craft beer by bringing women together to share in beer related events and experiences. The ladies at Lake of the Woods Brewing Company are excited to bring a community of women together to celebrate all things beer through the Barley's Angels Kenora Chapter. Come join us to be beer-educated by our female brewers, socialize with fellow beer sisters and attend fun quarterly events! Run by women, for women. Like our Facebook page to stay up to date with the Kenora Barley's Angels.
We are a for-profit craft brewing company guided by social impact policies with a stated purpose: to give back to the places that we live, work and play in by paying close attention to the communities that we serve. We take corporate social responsibility seriously. We think outside the box. We are committed to philanthropy. Since we first opened our doors in June 2013, we have supported and strengthened community events and development community partnerships, with an ethos that better communities equals better business. See our donation request form a little further down the page.
Lake of the Woods Brewing Company is joining a global movement and saying ‘no’ to plastic straws. It is good for the land, good for the water and great for all the children in the world who deserve to inherit a safe and clean planet Earth. Help us make single-use plastic straws a thing of the past. *Corn based, biodegradable straws will only be available upon request only in the Taproom.
